Why participate?
The OSCE Manager and the SP Portal are both Open-source software released under the GNU General Public License and thus, the source code of both applications is freely accessible. So you can do with it what you want, for example:
- Just have a look at it
- Translate it to a new language
- Add new features
- Squash bugs
- ...
If you have bugs to report, please use the issue tracking system on GitHub!
How to participate
The OSCE Manager and its little brother, the SP Portal are both hosted on GitHub. Fell free to use the code how ever you see fit!

What do I need to know to get started?
The OSCE Manager is a quite extensive project and is composed of more than 100 data objects and several tenthousands of lines of code. It is a considerable undertaking to get started in the first place. If you're serious about it, but reluctant because of the project's size, there's also the possibility of getting supported by us.
The technologies the OSCE Manager uses are:
- The Spring and Spring Roo frameworks
- The Google Web Toolkit on the frontend
- MySQL as the backend
There are many more specialized libraries in use throughout the project, where needed. There is no built in authentication system so far, because our University uses Shibboleth for authentication and thus, the server running OSCE Manager is secured using this system.
